OTTER Home Inc. is a modern in-house healing program based in Carberry, MB, focusing on family reunification, recovery, attachment and community well-being.

Our team includes a diverse range of roles, covering administrative staff, participant coordinators, mentors, live-in support workers, and licensed professionals in fields such as early childhood education, trauma, mental health, and service navigation. We work closely with community professionals of all backgrounds and the participant's personal support network to provide a seamless continuum of care that effectively meets their needs during their stay with us and beyond.

Here's what sets us apart from other in-house family programs:

• OTTER's eight week program cost per day, per person is $266.67 compared to other privately run facilities within Manitoba which range from $ 554.44 to $ 886.67 per day, per person.

• OTTER Home Inc. accommodates mothers and larger sibling groups in a unified space to promote attachment and healing. OTTER offers a ten percent discount for families with more than three children!

• Our on-site staff and mentors are available 24/7, offering expertly crafted eight week programs tailored by trauma and attachment specialists for all participants - even the children! Program extensions are approved based on requests and available funding. 

• Our building is brand new consisting of two wings which include single and double rooms, private counselling room, programming area, a common living and dining room. Best of all, two expansive modern kitchens where participants can actually cook and bake in!

• OTTER welcomes any participant who is ready for recovery, our participants are not required to have completed an initial treatment program. OTTER openly welcomes participants transferring from other facilities for continued care.

• We offer a blend of individual therapy and group activities to strengthen family bonds and parent-child attachment dynamics.

• Our licensed professionals provide therapy, mentorship, advocacy, and support to all participants. OTTER provides school assessments and tailored programming for the children. A dedicated educator is on site to support both mothers and their children. 

• Children and youth partake in their own eight week age specific adapted programming that mirrors the adult program cycle through play, attachment and education. Our children are not forgotten! OTTER emphasizes on healing for the entire family unit, not just the adults.

• We value input from both mothers and their support systems in creating effective wellness plans for successful family reunification. This includes comprehensive after-care planning for all of our participants, connecting participants with job training programs and employment resources prior to their end of stay.

• OTTER offers programs for extended family members and support networks before program completion to encourage healthier family and community relationships.

• OTTER Home Inc. features multi-faceted programs that address physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being, aiming for lasting positive change and family reunification.

• Participants (age dependent and interest) have access to complete various certifications including: Red Cross First Aid and CPR, Red Cross babysitting, Naloxone training and Food Safe and much more at no extra cost!
