    Part Time Evening Mentors

    Location: Carberry, MB


    Job Description:

    We are seeking experienced and compassionate mentors to provide support to the participants in our in-house attachment progam. If you are passionate about providing quality care and making a difference in  the lives of others, we would love to hear from you. We are seeking mentors who not only have experience but also a caring attitude and fun personality.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Report directly to the Executive Leader.
    • Mentor children and parents in healthy living.
    • Provide strong connections and advocacy for participants.
    • Promote fairness, integrity, and transparency in all aspects of work.
    • Make informed decisions that align with OTTER Home Inc. goals and values.
    • Empower participants to develop healthy life skills through grief work, self-care, routines, and mentoring parenting skills.
    • Facilitate groups with mothers and children.
    • Monitor individuals' progress, provide support, and discuss any concerns with the individual and relay them to the coordinator.
    • Actively participate in the implementation of Participant Centered Plans.
    • Help participants live their best lives as defined by the individuals.

    Qualifications:

    • Preference will be given to candidates with post-secondary education in the areas of mental health, substance use, and attachment.
    • Experience working with people in recovery.
    • Effective problem-solving ability and strong communication skills.
    • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Willingness to practice compassion, empathy, integrity, and promote self-advocacy.
    • Possess the ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
    • Valid First Aid and CPR.
    • Clear Criminal, Adult and Child Abuse Registry Checks.
    • Commitment to providing high-quality care to our women and children.
    • Class 5 Drivers License

    Job Types: 8-hour shift. Part Time 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM
